Chemical industry experiencing new growth opportunities

As a major recruiter for Industrial Chemicals, Key Corporate Services follows the fortunes of the Chemical Industry closely. And a recent press release by Boston Consulting Group about a surge in growth in the industry caught our eye. The article detailed how the shale boom and the reshoring of manufacturing to the U.S. are “accelerating growth in the North American Chemical Industry”.

Two forces drive the renaissance in the North American chemical industry. One is the availability of low-cost natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs). This represents a supply-side improvement in the fundamental economics of U.S. chemical production relative to that in the rest of the world.

The other force positively affects the demand-side of the industry. That is the reshoring of manufacturing to the U.S. from traditional low-cost countries.  This has lead to an increase domestic demand for chemical by at least $10 billion to $21 billion by 2020.

The publication highlighted the unique benefits to the Polymers segment, one that Key Corporate Services recruits for on a regular basis. That segment stands to capture significantly higher revenues as a result of the increased incremental demand from the plastics and rubber industry.

This bodes well for candidates looking for new opportunities in the Chemical industry. Increased demand for products in this industry are leading to new career opportunities.
