The U.S. economy added 203,000 jobs in November. Economists surveyed by CNNMoney had predicted payroll gains of 183,000 jobs.
The unemployment rate fell to 7.0% — the lowest level since November 2008, as more people said they got jobs and joined the labor force.
This is encouraging news for the 11 million Americans who remain unemployed. The job market has been improving for three years now, but at a frustratingly slow pace.
That’s all good news. But it gets even better if you are a top professional in your field: in that case, the total unemployment rate is fairly irrelevant, and job prospects are excellent across the board.
We are seeing strong hiring in all of our practice areas. In fact, we were flooded with job orders late in the year, and we are still searching for candidates for many of them. Meanwhile, new orders are coming in. 2013 was our best year in our 13-year history, and we expect 2014 to be even busier and better!
