The Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC) recently published a report titled, “Executive Talent 2025: What’s now new and next in global C-Suite talent.”

This report is chock full of valuable insights for members of the in-house recruitment team and executive members alike. Below are some key insights that really resonated with us:

  1. The top business issue that organizations are facing today is digital transformation. As a result, demand is being driven “for both agile leaders and agile organizations, increasing focus on developing next generation leaders, and fueling a critical need for diversity…”
  2. Respondents answered that their primary reason for choosing executive search firms over other service providers were:
    • Professionalism
    • Access to difficult to reach candidates
    • Confidentiality
    • Diverse candidates
  3. In response to the question, “Based on your changing executive talent needs, in what ways can executive search firms better serve you?”. The top responses to this open-ended question included:
    • Diverse candidates
    • Better understand business
    • Ensure culture fit
    • Improve speed
    • Strong success rate
  4. Only 55% of executive-level candidates went through a formal on-boarding process.
  5. These same candidates wish the on-boarding process included:
    • Deeper insight on vision and strategy
    • More training on internal policy and procedure
    • Better understanding of culture
